Acceptable Use Policy
Almost everyone uses Spenzaa exactly as intended: to track their money and manage their business ledger. This policy exists for the rare cases where someone doesn't. It supplements section 6 of our Terms & Conditions and applies to every part of the Service, including SpenzaBook.
1. The basics
Don't use Spenzaa to break the law, harm people, or interfere with the Service itself. Specifically, you may not:
- Use the Service for money laundering, fraud, tax evasion or any unlawful financial activity;
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data;
- Probe, scan, overload or disrupt our systems, or bypass rate limits and security controls;
- Scrape the Service, extract our AI models, or reverse-engineer the apps;
- Upload malware or anything designed to damage devices or data;
- Resell access to the Service without a written agreement with us.
2. SpenzaBook: reminders and contacts — read this one
SpenzaBook lets you record credit against people in your contacts and send them payment reminders. This is powerful, so it comes with firm rules:
- Only record real transactions. Creating fake ledger entries against someone — to pressure, defame or defraud them — is grounds for immediate account termination.
- Reminders are not a harassment tool. Reminder frequency is capped by design. Attempting to spam, threaten or intimidate anyone through reminders, statements or notes is prohibited.
- No unlawful debt collection. If you collect debts commercially, you are responsible for complying with the debt-collection and money-lending laws that apply to you. Spenzaa is a record book, not a recovery agency.
- Respect your contacts' privacy. Ledger details may only be shared with the person the ledger belongs to. Publishing someone's balance publicly to shame them ("name and shame" lists) is prohibited.
3. Content rules
Notes, details and attachments you add must not contain content that is illegal, threatening, or infringes someone else's rights. Bill photos should be bills — not content that has nothing to do with a transaction.
4. Fair usage
Free and Pro plans are for genuine personal or business use. Automated bulk account creation, or usage patterns that degrade the Service for others, may be throttled or blocked. If you have unusually large needs (thousands of ledgers, API access), talk to us — we're happy to figure something out: help@spenzaa.com.
5. What happens if you break these rules
Depending on severity, we may warn you, restrict features (for example, pause reminder sending), suspend your account, or terminate it. Where the law requires, we cooperate with legitimate requests from law enforcement. If we terminate your account for abuse, you can still export your own data unless the law prevents it.
6. Reporting abuse
If someone is misusing Spenzaa against you — fake entries in your name, harassing reminders — email help@spenzaa.com with "Abuse report" in the subject. These reports go to the top of our queue.
